Defense Base Act Attorney Patrick Streb

Mr. Streb has 25 years’ experience representing seagoing, waterfront and other maritime workers including fishermen, divers, marine construction workers and members of various unions including the ILWU, SUP, MFOW, Operating Engineers, Iron Workers, IBU, AMO, MEBA and IOMM&P of which he is a past member.

Mr. Streb has over 10 years practical experience sailing as a U.S. Coast Guard licensed deck officer for various United States flag shipping companies. He has additional experience aboard tugs, fishing vessels, offshore supply vessels, barges and other small craft. He is an expert in navigation, piloting, large and small boat handling, weather, cargo handling and maritime safety. He was honorably discharged from the United States Naval Reserve as a Lieutenant.

Mr. Streb has litigated cases throughout the United States and has represented workers throughout the world including those covered under the Defense Base Act. This includes linguists, private security employees and others working overseas assisting the U.S government.

Mr. Streb obtained his Juris Doctor from Marshall Law School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1977, and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York in 1973.

Outside of work he enjoys surfing, golfing, cooking and spending time with his wife.
